Gorkem Buur

A lingering daydreamer, Görkem Buur was born in Istanbul, in 1970.

In between her pursuit of a groove to portray her dreams and her affection for Van Gogh and Gauguin, she fell for the canvas and the paint.

The special painting knife technique enables me to better translate my dreamland into my art. It helps me express sharper lines and obvious forms, forms that speak out. And it enables me to make a statement of the colourful, peaceful dreamland my mind fancies and longs for.
